ABC6X free downloads (7 Aug 2008)

Install ABC6X (approx 20Mb) New in August 2008, this is the experimental new look ABC6X. It will install into a different folder from ABC6, and should not affect your ABC6 (but as always we recommend you make a backup before you start). Filename is ABC6X_INST_6201.EXE. Current version is 6.201

What is new?

ABC6X has a completely new user interface so all the screens look different, the Main Menu is different and the behaviour of many iitems has changed. However the underlying ABC accounts programs and files remain exactly as before.

This new "experimental" ABC6X can be customised -- you can change the "skin" and screen colours, choose what appears on some of the "Quick Access" Menus, and the font that is used on screen.

ABC6X comes with its own separate dummy data files so you can play around with it and not affect your real ABC6 data.

Your feedback is very welcome. There may be parts of ABC6X that are still rough around the edges. Please complain (by email) about anything you don't like and make suggestions for improvement.

Visit the User Forum for details, comments, and suggestions about ABC6.

Instructions for downloading software.

Simply click on one of the links above to get your computer to start downloading that file and SAVE TO DISK. While it is downloading, we suggest you make a note of the Name of the file you are downloading (eg. abc6_inst_6117.EXE )

When you have finished downloading the file onto your computer, you then need to RUN it in order to install or update your ABC program. Probably the easiest way to do this is to use Windows to locate the file, and then double-click the mouse on it.
Proceed as follows:

From the START button on your Windows desktop, select FIND, FILES OR FOLDERS and then enter the name of the file you downloaded
(eg. abc6_inst_6107.exe) and click "Find Now" When the file appears in the box below, you can simply double-click on it to cause it to "run"

If you have problems with this, or need someone to talk you step-by-step through it on the telephone, please contact your local support person. If all else fails, we suggest you simply order an update disk from us through the post in the normal (old fashioned..??) way.

As soon as a bug is reported, we fix the program and put the updated software onto this website. It is up to you to check this website regularly (eg. every couple of weeks) and download the latest software.

Only if you have paid us for After-Sales Support will we automatically send you free Update Disks and Newsletters through the post.
