New Payroll for 6 April 2012
You need updated Payroll software for use after 6 April 2012. Order Forms will be sent to all registered ABC Payroll users in March 2012. Contact us if you do not receive one. The new software can be purchased from ABC or your local support company, and includes a CD and step-by-step instructions.

The latest version of ABC is v6.366 and this includes many enhancements. Can be down,loaded from our website.
VAT Rate changes 4 Jan 2011
VAT standard rate increased from 17.5% to 20% on 4th January 2011. Here is how to implement this in ABC accounts.
In ABC6 use the Accounts Utility function > Rarely Used functions > EDIT VAT RATES, and change the rate for VAT Code 1 from 17.5% to 20%. Do this on 4th January 2011.
In ABC5 use the Accounts Utility function EDIT COMPANY PARAMETERS > VAT Rates, and change the rate for VAT Code 1 to 20% (instead of 17.5%). Do this on 4th January 2011.
If you have more than one company set up in ABC, you need to do this for each company.
You should have received a letter from the Revenue & customs explaining this in more detail. But in a nutshell all you have to do is make the above change. The Revenue expects that for the first month or two there may some slight confusion or discrepancy, and have said they will ignore this. So do not worry if you do something the wrong way, or make small mistakes.
ABC6 VAT Online recognition
The ABC6 Accounts software has gained HMRC Recognition and been added to the list of products on the HMRC website that are suitable for sending VAT Returns online. You still have to pay the money, but at least now you do not have to fill in the VAT form and post it.
