Future dated transactions

Post by abctech »

ABC6 allows you to choose whether to hide or show transactions dated in a future accounting month.
On the Nominal Ledger (Headings) Record card there is a box (just above CURRENT TOTAL) labelled INCLUDE FUTURE ITEMS. If you tick this box the Current Total will include items with a future date. Untick the box and those items will be invisible until you run the Month End.

Depending on whether you choose to include future items, several reports will reflect this option; including Profit/Loss (Trading) Report, and Balance Sheet.
The Report Title will indicate what the figures show., and obviously the figures will be different depending on your choice.

This new option in ABC6 was introduced around September 2012 and has resulted in many phone calls from users wanting to know why the figures are not what they expect; and maybe why the figures are different to reports from earlier in the year.
(There is no question about ABC that we can't answer :-)
