Error 430 when trying to use Payroll

Postby abctech on Thu Apr 13, 2017 10:06 am

A few users have reported they get this error after installing the new Payroll 17-18, and we have determined the cause.

When you install the new Payroll, if your Anti-virus or Security software thinks part of the new program is a security risk it may "quarantine" or prevent it from being used. Sometimes you will see a message on screen telling you this (and giving you a chance to stop the removal).

If part of the program is disabled in this way, you will get Error 430 when you try to run the Payroll.

Solution: Either go to your Security software and unquarantine the ABC file it has removed. Or install again and watch more carefully for any pop up message, and then find the option to "Install Anyway" or similar to allow the ABC payroll to be run.
(There is no question about ABC that we can't answer :-)

Similar problem occurred again in April 2018 as the first few people started using the new ABC Payroll, at the point they tried to send RTI. Although the same solution as given last year still applies, we have now added a new feature to the program to check that the RTI part is installed and correctly Registered; and if not, ABC tries to fix this automatically. Only if that fails will you get an error message. In which case contact us and we'll suggest what to look for on your PC that is causing the problem.

(Most of the people affected this year seem to be still using Windows XP...., so we are not sure if that is a factor).
