Everything to do with ABC5 (DOS)

There are many many people using ABC5, and they have got used to it over the years. We will still support it and fix any bugs you report.

Believe it or not, in 2021 we do know of a few people determinedly still using the old DOS version of ABC (called ABC5) to run their business.
ANd occasionally if they have a problem we do still manage to help.

But we do recommend that they do move up to ABC6 under Windows 10. (And at press of a button it can import all data from ABC5).

Note that no old DOS programs can be run under 64bit Windows. Including ABC5.

Having said that, there are 3rd party products that create a virtual DOS environment to allow people to run old DOS programs (mainly games) in 64bit Windows. We have looked at a few of these, and talked to their developers. Although they all agree that ABC5 "should" run in the virtual DOS, so far it has not actually worked.

This was just done out of interest. The few people still using ABC5 are not likely to want to pay for research to try and make it work (they can just buy an old PC with Windows XP to run ABC5). However, if you wish to try then a search of the internet will point you at like minded people.
