New user input option

We are experimenting with a new option for ABC6. Previously you have had to press the EDIT button before you can change anything on the screen. The new option means you can turn off this requirement, and simply start typing if you wish to amend some details. As soon as you alter anything, the normal SAVE or CANCEL buttons appear, and you must click one of those before you can exit (Pressing F5 or ESC will also work).

This is certainly faster, and experienced users will probably prefer it. Let us have your feedback.

Version 6.338 ABC includes this option and is available on our website.

To change the setting:
Main Menu > Accounts Utilities > Edit Company Parameters > User Input.

You can choose whether or not you need to press EDIT before you can change anything.

At present this option applies only to the Sales Ledger (Customer Records). If people like it, we will extend it to the rest of ABC.

This option has now been extended to all the Ledgers in ABC.

This is great. Makes editing much quker (well saves a mouse click each time).
